Performance Enhancement Center
Tim Bondy Physical Therapy offers a new way to experience physical therapy...outdoors! Our Conway center features a new Performance Enhancement Center including an outdoor patio area for exercise equipment, stairs for climbing, ropes course, obstacle course, stretching bars and a variety of uneven ground for patients to practice walking.
The course allows patients to do warm-up exercises outdoors, work on balance and other body mechanics through a variety of equipment nestled in and around the woods. It is also designed to help train area athletes and to teach proper techniques for shoveling snow during the winter months.
Those who work outdoors can do physical therapy in the same atmosphere in which they work to learn techniques to do their job more efficiently.
The P.E.C. is the result of a shared vision of Tim Bondy and physical therapist Steve Politis. "Each patient has the ability to apply their program content to an outdoor program. It allows us to bring that element of naturalness to it. Ever since I bought that facility I wanted to utilize the outdoors," explains Tim Bondy.
"I kept looking out the window thinking, 'This is beautiful.' Everybody likes to be outside and it's beautiful out here so let's make use of it," says Steve Politis.
As Tim says, "Our patients feel differently when they're outside. I'm seeing an opening of their senses. Their breathing, their visual, their auditory. It just changes the way they do things. It lends itself to a whole new dimension of rehab."
